Washington, Columbia, and Stanford Top Week Nine USRowing Coaches’ Polls

University of Washington, Columbia University and Stanford University topped this week’s men’s heavyweight eight, men’s lightweight eight and women’s lightweight eight USRowing Collegiate Coaches’ Polls, respectively.

For the fourth consecutive week, Washington took the top spot in the men’s heavyweight eight poll, earning 11 of 14 first-place votes following its victory at the Pac-12 Championships. Yale University, who won the EARC Sprints, moved up to second, earning the other three first-place votes. University of California, Harvard University and Brown University rounded out the top five.

Columbia continued as top choice in the men’s lightweight eight poll, earning six of seven first-place votes after winning the EARC Sprints this past weekend. Princeton University, which received the other first-place vote, ranked second. University of Pennsylvania, Harvard and the United States Naval Academy rounded out the top five.

Stanford University regained the top spot in the women’s lightweight poll, earning four of six first-place votes, thanks to a sweep at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships. Boston University ranked second, taking the other two first-place votes. Princeton University, University of Wisconsin and Harvard-Radcliffe rounded out the top five.
