PRINCETON, N.J. — USRowing and Concept2 are proud to announce this year’s National Learn to Row Day, to be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018. The event will be recognized by rowing clubs and health clubs throughout the United States and continues the annual tradition of introducing the sport of rowing to communities across the country.
USRowing is inviting clubs to join the more than 125 organizations that participated in last year’s National Learn to Row Day. Clubs are encouraged to welcome newcomers into their facilities and introduce the fundamentals of the sport, including basic instruction of the rowing stroke, both on the ergometer and on the water.
“National Learn to Row Day is a great opportunity for organizations to introduce rowing to those new to the sport and also showcase the many programs they offer,” said Susan Smith, USRowing’s Chief Domestic Officer. “For many clubs this is a key component to their recruiting process and to their growth. USRowing is committed to support that effort in any way we can and hope to surpass last year’s record-breaking number of participating organizations.”
Clubs can register online. USRowing is offering first-time participating clubs a National Learn to Row Day banner for their boathouses, and all participating clubs will receive posters and “Get A Grip” informational brochures.
