‘Bringing New Coaches Onboard’ Free Webinar! 2/6 and 2/7
By USRowing Staff • February 2, 2018
Hiring strong new coaches and fully supporting your existing coaches is a challenge faced by all organizations.
USRowing Membership Services is inviting you to join the discussion on Tuesday, February 6th at noon (EST) or Wednesday February 7th at 7PM (EST) via a free webinar, as we discuss the first in a series of topics, “Bringing New Coaches Onboard.” Attendees will be invited to share their procedures for training new coaches, and get ideas for elements to consider adding to their training in the lead-up to the summer hiring season.
CB Sands-Bohrer and Matt Lehrer from Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI) will lead the discussion and share their coach training process, which includes 40 hours of required training for each coach. Examples from CRI’s training include:
- Setting organizational expectations for building community, communication, and meeting the goals of CRI’s mission
- In-depth safety training including USRowing and FISA safety standards, safe launch driving, athlete protection policy and USOC Safe Sport
- CRI’s formal feedback loop process
- Coach self care and career management
