Better coaches make better athletes. Improve your coaching skills.
USRowing Coaching Education wants you to be a safer and more effective coach. Get a jump start on your coaching with the USRowing Level 2 coaching course!
“I just wanted to reach out and say thanks for all the hard work setting up this incredible clinic. It’s just what Rochester has been needing as we begin to grow our coaching base all over the river and the canal.” – Anonymous host of a recent Level 2 course
USRowing will be offering 15-20 Level 2 courses in locations around the country during the months of January, February and March. Registration for some of those clinics will open in October. Clubs in Seattle, Boston, Orlando, Alexandria, VA, Minneapolis and many others will be hosting the 2-day course, allowing over 350 coaches become safer and more effective coaches.
The depth of information in the certification manual, along with the discussions sparked by the topics during the course, is what coaches who have attended the course have found to be so helpful to advancing their coaching skills. A recent attendee emailed us to say “I am currently in my 15th year of coaching. I recently completed the level 2 coaching certification clinic with Larry Laszlo and found the experience, including the study of the manual and the description of creation of training plans to be very enlightening.”
The information in the manual is based on what our top high school, college and national team coaches use every day to produce fast crews. The course is the foundation for everyone with aspirations of being a good coach.
Level 2 Coaching Certification is very comprehensive and requires the coach to understand and demonstrate coaching principles, like creating a simple training program and teaching rowing technique on an erg. For these reason’s experienced varsity coaches like Mike Teti, USRowing National Team Men’s coach and Head Coach at the University of California, Berkeley says “The most comprehensive rowing manual ever written. From technique to training, to nutrition and safety, all bases are covered in this book. This a very useful tool for every rowing coach from novice to elite. Highly recommended.”
