2017 USRowing Men’s Under 23 Selection Camp

USRowing is pleased to announce that 29 rowers have been invited to the 2017 U.S. Men’s Under 23 National Team Selection Camp in Oklahoma City, Okla. The camp will be coached by Dave O’Neill (University of Texas), who will be assisted by Brian De Regt (Oakland Strokes). The coaches will be in charge of selecting the men’s eight and four to compete at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships July 19-23 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

All athletes must contact Cam Kiosoglous at cameron@usrowing.org by April 1st to accept or decline their invitation. Athletes will not be able to attend Selection camp without meeting their Selection Eligible (ECG/Physical) Requirements.

Invitation to selection camp was based upon the following criteria (in no particular order):

  • Coach recommendations
  • Physical and physiological characteristics, e.g height, weight.
  • Past performance in international and domestic competition
  • Athlete’s ability to match the style and technique of the crew as determined by the designated coach
  • Video and audio tapes of performance in the case of coxswains
