SKILLMAN, N.J. – After a weekend of questionable weather throughout New Jersey, the sun shone brightly on Bedens Brook Golf Club in Skillman, N.J., as Rio hopefuls and 85 Rio supporters gathered for an enjoyable summer’s day of golf.
“The weather was fantastic and the atmosphere on and off the course was not only theDSC_3330 perfect way to support our national team athletes, but a great way to honor Dr. Hosea and his legacy,” said National Team Manager Liz Soutter. “I think he would have really been proud of his friends, family and fellow USRowing supporters today.”
On the links, the foursome of Jim Ruh, Rich Korab, Al Venezia and and Scott McCauley swung the least to lead the highly contested field of athletes.
The live auction event included a wide variety of gifts such as various Team USA gear, a golf lesson with Class A LPGA Teaching Professional Gia Bocra Liwski, a pair of USRowing Training Center New Balance shoes, a round of golf at the Trump National Golf Course and two tickets to “Hamilton” on Broadway.
Gold medal sponsors for the event included Normandy Real Estate Partners, University Orthopaedic Associates and Ironshore. Silver medal sponsors included Regatta Print, Holt Logistics and Leo & Melinda Holt.
“The event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, or without the support of our donors and guests who made the live auction such a success,” said Soutter.
