Female Athlete Representative
Meghan joined the USRowing Board of Directors in January 2014 as the Female Athlete Representative. She currently lives and trains in Princeton, N.J. at the USRowing Training Center. She is a four-time U.S. National Team member (2013-16) and represented the U.S. in the women’s double sculls at the 2016 Olympic Games.
O’Leary was a Jefferson Scholar at the University of Virginia, receiving both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees while competing as a two-sport varsity athlete in softball and volleyball. Following graduation, she went to work for ESPN, Inc., for five years in the Production and Programming & Acquisitions Departments.
While working and living in Connecticut, Meghan first picked up the sport of rowing during the fall of 2010 at a learn-to-row at Riverfront Recapture Rowing Club in Hartford. A year later, she was invited to train at the USRowing Training Center in Princeton where she trained for two years before moving to Oklahoma City. She is also a member of the New York Athletic Club.
Meghan comes from a mix of Midwest and Southern upbringing; from Oklahoma to Texas to Missouri and finally Baton Rouge, Louisiana where her parents, Dan and Kathy still reside. She has a twin brother, Jon and an older brother, Bryan.
