USRowing is committed to fair play. All athletes participating in selection for, and competing as a member of, all U.S. national rowing teams must be in compliance with United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), International Olympic Committee (IOC), United States Olympic Committee (USOC), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), FISA and USRowing rules and requirements relating to banned substances, including but not limited to undergoing testing and obtaining and maintaining current therapeutic use exemptions as needed. Failure to adhere to anti-doping rules and requirements may result in an athlete losing eligibility to compete for the United States.
Tentative Information for Spring Speed Order 1 (Formerly NSR1): April 18 – 21, 2017
(Please note: Athletes and Coaches meeting will be held on April 18 at 8:00am)

Racing will be conducted at the Princeton National Rowing Association/Caspersen Rowing Center, (1 S. Post Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550 Website: Link). Regatta participants will not have access to locker rooms or showers on-site. Restrooms will be available.
Please see Appendix C of the 2017 Senior Selection procedures for descriptions of the 6-lane progression system that will be used for this event.
Time trial distance is 1,900 meters.
Eligibility & Compliance:
All competitors MUST be “Selection Eligible” as outlined in the 2017 Selection Procedures. Specifically, all competitors must have completed the USRowing ECG and pre-competition screening .
All competitors must be current full privilege members of USRowing and have a signed liability waiver on file. Athletes will not be permitted to launch if they are not in compliance with these requirements. Please check your status and renew your membership and waiver before arriving for competition. This can be done online at www.usrowing.org by clicking on “Join/Renew” or by contacting member services at 1-800-314-4ROW. Membership staff will not be on-site, so it is important to ensure compliance in advance of the event.

The athlete meeting will be held at the Caspersen Rowing Center in front of the National Team bays (far side of boathouse) on April 18th at 8 am. You or your representative MUST attend the meeting or you will be scratched from competition.
Practice Schedule (Tentative and Subject to Change):
The first opportunity for regatta participants to practice on Mercer Lake will be Sunday, April 16. Participants may not unload equipment or have access to the lake or boathouse prior to that day. Please follow the practice times listed below and check in with USRowing staff and the information board on site for practice traffic patterns and boat storage. Boat scales for test weighing will be open 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after scheduled practice times.

USRowing will follow FISA weights for all lightweight competitors.
A rower may compete in lightweight rowing events if he/she meets the following criteria:
- A lightweight men’s crew shall have an average weight not exceeding 70 kg. No individual lightweight male rower may weigh more than 72.5kg.
- A lightweight male single sculler may not weigh more than 72.5 kg.
- A lightweight women’s crew shall have an average weight not exceeding 57 kg. No individual lightweight female rower may weigh more than 59 kg.
- A female lightweight single sculler may not weigh more than 59 kg.
Lightweight rowers will be weighed wearing only their racing uniform on calibrated scales not less than one hour and not more than two hours before their first race of each lightweight event in which they are competing, each day of the competition.
All vehicles must park in the lot as you come off Post Road and in defined parking spots. Boat trailers may park along the dirt access road behind the boathouse. No other vehicles are allowed behind the boathouse. Emergency vehicles will need to have a clear path from the paved road all the way to the tree line behind the boathouse. Any vehicle not following the outlined parking rules will be towed at the owner’s expense.
You will NOT be able to drive your car behind the boathouse in order to unload your equipment. Please walk your equipment from the designated parking zones to the boat storage area.
All boats will be stored outside on personal slings or on club trailers. There is limited rack space available at the facility and visiting competitors will not have access to boat bays. Please be mindful of emergency access roads and walkways. Equipment that is blocking a path may be moved.

This event is open to all collegiate, club, and unaffiliated athletes. Under 19 National Team candidates will not be considered.
As outlined in the 2017 Rules of Rowing:
- All competitors must be citizens or nationals of the United States
- No competitor may wear the uniform of the U.S. National Team during competition
- Use of National Team colors on oars is prohibited
EAHI Qualification Opportunity:
Athletes who win their event in the following boat classes will be offered health insurance through the USOC’s Elite Athlete Health Insurance (EAHI) Program through the remainder of Period 1, 2017. Period 1 concludes on October 15, 2017. Coverage dates and eligible individuals are non-transferable. Athletes may accept or decline this offer, but must complete all required enrollment paperwork with the USOC prior to the end of the month in which they receive their offer in order for coverage to start on the 1st of the following month. From Route 1 North or South
Take the Alexander Road Exit (east) off of Route 1 towards the Princeton Junction Train Station
At the roundabout above the train tracks, take the first right onto North Post Road (this road will take you right to the boathouse).
Stay on Post Road through two stoplights, past the Conover Fields and the Mercer Oaks Golf Club. After these fields, there will be a ‘Road Closed’ sign at the entrance to the park, on the boathouse side of the lake.
Ignore this sign and head straight down the access road; the boathouse will be on your left as you reach lake.
