Tentative Information for U23 and U19 World Championship Trials: June 26-30, 2017
U23 Athlete meeting will be held at 8:30 AM on Monday, June 26th
U19 Athlete meeting will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28th
U23 events: BM1x, BW1x, BLM1x, BLW1x, BM2x, BW2x, BLM2x, BLW2x, BM2-, BW2-, BLM2-, BM4x, BLW4x, BLM4x, BM4+, BLM4-
U19 events: JW1x, JM1x, JW2x, JM2x, JW2-, JM2-
Racing will be conducted at the Princeton National Rowing Center/Caspersen Boathouse, (1 S. Post Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550 Website: Link). Trials participants will not have access to locker rooms or showers on-site. Restrooms will be available.

Time trial distance is 1,900 meters.
The Athlete meeting will be held at the Caspersen Olympic Rowing Center in front of the national team bays (far side of boathouse) on June 26 at 8:30 am for U23 athletes and on June 28 at 4:00 pm for U19 athletes. You or your representative MUST attend the meeting or you will be scratched from competition.
Practice Schedule (Tentative and Subject to Change):
The first opportunity for participants to practice on Mercer Lake will be Friday, June 23. Participants may not unload equipment or have access to the lake or boathouse prior to that date. Please follow the practice times listed below and check in with USRowing staff and the information board on site for practice traffic patterns and boat storage. Boat scales will be open and available during scheduled practice times. During racing, the course will be open for practice 30 minutes after the conclusion of morning racing and for 2 hours after that. After noon on these days only the 1st 1500 meters will be available.

USRowing will follow FISA weights for all lightweight competitors.
A rower may compete in lightweight rowing events if he/she meets the following criteria:
- A lightweight men’s crew shall have an average weight not exceeding 70 kg. No individual lightweight male rower may weigh more than 72.5kg.
- A lightweight male single sculler may not weigh more than 72.5 kg.
- A lightweight women’s crew (excluding coxswain) shall have an average weight not exceeding 57 kg. No individual lightweight female rower may weigh more than 59 kg.
- A female lightweight single sculler may not weigh more than 59 kg.
Lightweight rowers will be weighed wearing only their racing uniform on calibrated scales not less than one hour and not more than two hours before their first race of each lightweight event in which they are competing, each day of the competition.
- All competitors must have completed the USRowing ECG and Pre-Competition Health Screening.
- All competitors must have completed the USRowing Anti Doping Acknowledgement.
- All competitors must be current Championship Members of USRowing and have a signed liability waiver on file.
Athletes will not be permitted to launch if they are not in compliance with these requirements. Membership staff will not be on-site, so it is important to ensure compliance in advance of the event.
Trials Winners Information:
Please note that the passport must be valid through December 31, 2017. If your passport expires before that date, or if you do not have a passport, please be sure to start the renewal/application process well in advance of trials. All trials winners are also required to propose a coach at the trials, who should travel with the crew for the length of the World Championships.
All athletes winning berths at the selection trials must submit on site, in conjunction with their intent to compete, a payment per athlete to cover the expenses of food, lodging and local transportation during the world championships. Proposed coaches of boats at the world championships must submit payment in the full amount at the end of trials as well.
The cost per athlete and per coach for the 2017 U19 World Championships is $1,974.
The cost per athlete and per coach for the 2017 U23 World Championships is $2,065.
The final price does not include airfare from the U.S. to Europe, nor does it include the cost of equipment. Those plans and expenses are left to the coach and athletes. However, athletes and coaches making the trip will be advised by USRowing staff which dates the team should arrive/depart Europe.
All trials winners are responsible for securing competition equipment. USRowing will be able to provide contact information for international boat manufacturers at the end of trials.
All vehicles must park in the lot as you come off Post Road and in defined parking spots. Boat trailers may park along the dirt access road behind the boathouse. No other vehicles are allowed behind the boathouse. Emergency vehicles will need to have a clear path from the paved road all the way to the tree line behind the boathouse. Any vehicle not following the outlined parking rules will be towed at the owner’s expense.
You will NOT be able to drive your car behind the boathouse in order to unload your equipment. Please walk your equipment from the designated parking zones to the boat storage area.
All boats will be stored outside on personal slings or on club trailers. There is limited rack space available at the facility and visiting competitors will not have access to boat bays. Please be mindful of emergency access roads and walkways. Equipment that is blocking a path may be moved.
Entry fee: $30 per seat

Scratch/late entry fee (for changes after the deadline): $50

This event is open to all collegiate, club, and unaffiliated athletes.

- No competitor may wear the uniform of the U.S. national team during competition
- Use of national team colors on oars is prohibited
