Natalie began rowing her freshman year of college after she ran track in high school and wanted to remain part of a team... She wanted to try a sport that did not require vision, because she had lost her eyesight a few years before due to a brain tumor... She says she fell in love with rowing and the lifestyle of a college athlete... After rowing for one year, she began training with the adaptive national team... Natalie has one brother, Colin, who is currently in law school... Her guide dog's name is Gazette... Before a race, Natalie listens to upbeat and inspirational music and she eats pasta... After a race, she looks forward to mojitos, Oreos and reading.
