Sharis likes to listen to music and enjoyed playing the clarinet in her high school band. Her father is her hero, the most influential person in her rowing career and a U.S. Olympian. She started rowing after injuring her knee and discovering she liked erging. Her favorite foods are pasta and Starbursts. Sharis says her “lucky items” are her visor and stuffed sheep.
