Personal: Thomas decided to try rowing in high school as a spring sport after hearing about it from his dad. He lists winning the Temple Challenge Cup at the 2005 Henley Royal Regatta as his most memorable sporting achievement. Thomas lists Michael Jordan as the most influential person in his sporting career because he used to watch him play basketball when he was growing up, and Lance Armstrong as his personal hero because he is so dominate and works harder than everyone else. Thomas enjoys biking, running, surfing and reading.
