Personal: Nicknamed Kaess "Titus" Smit…His interests include underwater photography, ATP Augementation, vertical farming, ccoustical engineering, orcas and Incas…His proudest sporting accomplishment was novice year after "blazing down the course at Creve Coeur Lake with devastating speed, an opponent rower asked his boat, 'how many guys sub-7:00 do you have in your boat?!'"…He says being a member of that crew brought him pride.
