Venue Information

The Beetzsee International Regatta Course at Brandenburg-an-der-Havel was constructed 40 years ago on the Beetzsee Lake. The Brandenburg area has had a strong tradition of water sports, thanks to the many lakes and waterways in the region, dating back 120 years. Beetzsee began to gain international recognition as an excellent course after hosting the 1972 European Rowing Championships and the first ever junior world rowing championships in 1985. Since then, Beetzee has continued to host many significant international rowing and other water sport events, while maintaining the high standards of an elite rowing course.

Information on how to access the course and directions are available at the Brandenburg 2008 Web site.
