Although there are no required vaccinations to travel to Beijing, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) does recommend that travelers have certain vaccinations up to date. Some are routine vaccinations that most people receive, and others are more specific to diseases and viruses in this region of the world. Since some of these vaccinations are two-part shots, it is recommended that travelers get their first set 6-8 weeks prior to travel.
Jetlag, food poisoning and digestive issues are also common in travel to Asia. A physician can recommend medications to bring with you in case you experience any of these conditions.
Please see the CDC website for their full recommendations on travel to China.

If your personal physician does not have all of the recommended vaccinations, you also can visit a local Passport Health office. Passport Health is a network of vaccine clinics in the U.S. that specializes in travel health. Note that you should consult your insurance company for coverage information before visiting a clinic, as most providers consider this out of network and might deny coverage.
