Personal: Matt was team captain at Cornell University in 2008 and he was the recipient of the Excellence Fellowship in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University. He lists his hobbies as crossword puzzles and weight loss. Matt’s most memorable sporting achievement is winning the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship with my brother Eddie. The most influential people in his sporting career are his family members because they got him into rowing and help him keep with it every time he wanted to stop. Someday, Matt hopes to complete his graduate studies and write, research and teach.
