Personal: Kerry began rowing when her high school teacher, who was also a rowing coach, suggested that she try the sport because she was tall, and she loved it. Before each race, she eats oatmeal and listens to Ben Lee’s “Catch My Disease.” Joseph Scanio, Kerry’s high school coach, has been most influential in her rowing career because he helped her to develop a passion for the sport.
