Personal: Gevvie enjoys sailing, volunteering, needlepoint, and eating. In the fall of 2004, she had kneecap realignment surgery after she dislocated her kneecap earlier in the spring. Gevvie was born into rowing because her parents, Gregg and Lisa Stone, were both elite rowers. Her parents have been most infl uential in her athletic career because her mother coached her in high school and her father would train with her in the off-season. The rowing achievements of her parents push and inspire Gevvie to do great things in rowing.
