October 29, 2012
PRINCETON, N.J. – USRowing and the National Rowing Foundation are pleased to announce the World Gold Council will be a Gold Medal sponsor of the second annual Golden Oars Awards Dinner. The dinner, to be held Wednesday, November 14 at the New York Athletic Club in New York City, will honor excellence in the sport for 2012 and serve as a fundraiser for the U.S. National Team, as well as athletes of America Rows and USRowing adaptive programs.
"We are proud to support these outstanding athletes and congratulate them on their achievements at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Their dedication and commitment to the sport is an inspiration to future generations of American rowers,” said Jason Toussaint, managing director at the World Gold Council. "The Golden Oars Awards Dinner is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate their achievements and to encourage them as they begin their quest for the gold in Rio.”
“The World Gold Council and Golden Oars are a natural partnership and we are excited to welcome their involvement in rowing for the first time,” said Beth Kohl, USRowing chief marketing officer. “As our Olympic team celebrates a golden year and looks toward future success, we share a common bond; maintaining the gold standard in everything we do.”
Seven USRowing awards and seven Fan's Choice awards will be given at the Golden Oars Dinner representing many of the top rowing organizations, clubs and universities from across the country. Twenty-six U.S. Olympians and Paralympians will be honored at the annual celebration. Ticket sales and event information can be found at http://usrowing.tix.com.
