5K Run and US Olympic Team Meet and Greet

Mercer County Park in West Windsor was the site for the Go For the Gold 5K Sunday morning that attracted nearly 150 runners. The race went off at 9:30 and was followed by a kid's fun run. Aditya Bhagavathi of Plainsboro was the overall winner, finishing in a time of 17:24.4, while Amy Bernstein of Hightstown placed first in the women's category clocking in at 20:08.9.
Following the race, members of the Olympic rowing squad were on hand to sign autographs and meet participants and supporters. Team posters were provided for signatures of the crews that were on hand: the W8+, W4x, W2- and ML4-. Sarah Zelenka and Sara Hendershot, who make up the pair, awarded the top three men and women with medals.
Proceeds of the event will go to the America Rows Program, while Olympic team shirts were available in exchange for donations that go directly to the team. Full results from the race are here.
