Marin Rowing Association Shows Depth at Southwest Juniors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Marin Rowing Association, the defending national champions in the men’s and women’s youth eight and the lightweight men’s youth eight, continued to show its dominance at the 2012 USRowing Southwest Junior District Championships.
The Greenbrae, Calif. based club won the men’s and women’s youth eight, the men’s and women’s youth four and the men’s youth pair, and placed second in the lightweight men’s eight on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif., May 5-6.
All six boats have earned bids to the USRowing Youth National Championship June 8-10 on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. So far, 37 teams, from 32 clubs and 24 states, have earned the right to race at the youth national championships.
Oakland Strokes, which won the lightweight women’s eight and the lightweight women’s four captured the most youth national bids, with seven boats qualifying.
