2011 USRowing Under 23 Lightweight National Team Camps

The deadline to apply for U.S. Under 23 Lightweight National Team camps is May 20, 2011. The World Rowing Under 23 Championships are being held in Amsterdam, Netherlands July 21-24, 2011. All applicants must be born on or after January 1, 1989. On the first day of camp all athletes must be able to both weigh in at less than FISA maximum, plus three percent and meet the ergometer standards set at www.usrowing.org.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and forwarded to the appropriate camp coach upon acceptance no later than May 24.
Camp Details
The BLM4- Camp will select the lightweight men's four to compete at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships. The remaining camps will select the lightweight men's sculling events (quad, double and single) and the lightweight women's sculling events (quad, double and single) to compete at World Rowing Under 23 Championship Trials on June 27-29 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. Approximately eight to 12 athletes will be selected for each of these camps.
BLM4-
Location: Oklahoma City National High Performance Center
Start: June 7, 2011
Coaches: Bryan Volpenhein, USRowing Lightweight Coach, and Cam Brown, OKCNHPC Assistant Coach
Cost: $750, includes accommodation, meals and local transportation. Athletes who are selected to the BLM4- are responsible for the cost of their flight to Amsterdam. The Oklahoma City National High Performance Center will sponsor their USRowing fee for the World Rowing Under 23 Championships.
BLW 4x, 2x, 1x
Location: GMS Rowing Center
Start: June 1, 2011
Coaches: Guenter Beutter, Head Coach, Richard Klein and Peter Orlando, Assistant Coaches
Cost: $600 ($200 non-refundable). Transportation, meals and housing not included. GMS Rowing Center can help find affordable housing. The cost of the selection phase of camp includes coaching, equipment, facility fees and housing in Princeton, N.J. at the World Rowing Under 23 Championship Trials (but not food or transportation). The cost of attending the World Rowing Under 23 Championships is additional.

Location: Vesper Boat Club
Start: June 8, 2011
Coaches: Michiel Bartman, Vesper Head Coach, and Scott Wisniewski, Vesper Assistant Coach
Cost: $550, Vesper offers affordable housing options on a first-come, first-serve basis and fundraising assistance for qualifying boats.
