2007 Junior National Team Identification Camps

USRowing’s 2007 Identification Camp schedule is now posted. Several changes have been made to the identification camp system, so please read the following carefully:

Registration:

All registration for identification camps will be through RegattaCentral (http://www.regattacentral.com/index.jsp?tab=camps). Please take note of the registration deadlines listed. Late entrants may be considered, but a spot is not guaranteed. Contact the camp coordinator for the specific camp you would like to attend. There is a non-refundable $30 entry fee associated with participating in the identification camp.  Visa and Mastercard are accepted.  Cash and checks will be accepted at check-in. However, credit card prepayment is preferred.

USRowing Membership:

Athletes who participate in identification camps MUST be individual members of USRowing. Please call 1-800-314-4769 or click the Join/Renew link above to become a member. Note that athletes will need a valid USRowing member number to register online through RegattaCentral. 

Final Notes:

Athletes who do not have a valid USRowing membership, a signed USRowing waiver or their registration fee upon check-in will not be allowed to participate in the identification camp.

What is an Identification Camp?

Identification camps are tools that National Team coaches use in order to identify potential future National Team athletes. It is also an opportunity for athletes to meet with National Team coaches and discuss training goals and programs.

What happens at an Identification Camp?

On the day of the camp, athletes will complete either a 2k, 4k or 6k erg test. Depending on the weather and the condition of the water, athletes will participate in an indoor tank and/or rowing session.

How long is an Identification Camp session?

Camps are held for one day, usually on the weekend, and last about 3-5 hours. Check the updated identification camp schedules for more information or get in touch with the camp contact listed for more details.

Where are Identification Camps held?

Identification camps are held in various locations throughout the United States. Typically, coaches try to hold at least one camp on the East Coast, West Coast and in the Midwest. Check the updated identification camp schedules for more information.

What else can I do to help get identified by a National Team coach?

By participating in USRowing’s National Team Testing program online, athlete’s will have the opportunity to show coaches improvements in their monthly erg scores.
