Program Fees

The fee for every program includes lunch all three days, the vendor reception, awards reception, and breakfast stations sponsored by our friends in the rowing community. There are daily passes available if you are only able to attend one day and 10 scholarships waiving registration fees are also available. 2009 Program Information 

Level I -- The Level I program is open to anyone interested in becoming a rowing coach. The program starts on Thursday at 2 p.m. and ends Friday at 5 p.m.

Level II -- The Level II program is open to coaches who have had their Level I certificate for more than six months or a coach who has over a year of coaching experience and understands safety, the basics of training, teaching, learning, basic physiology, and rigging as laid out in the Level I manual. The program starts on Thursday at 9 a.m. and ends Friday at 6 p.m.

Level III -- The Level III program is open to coaches who have had their Level II for at least a year or a coach with five years of coaching experience. The program s tarts on Thursday at 9 a.m. and ends Friday at 6 p.m.

The Advanced Coaches program is open to all coaches; there are no pre-requisites, but it is geared to coaches who have experience coaching varsity (high school or college) or club athletes. The program starts on Thursday at 9 a.m. and ends Friday at 6 p.m.

Saturday's program is open to all attendees and is an opportunity to hear presenters starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. The topics will cover include our National Team coaches plus topics covering proper erg technique, training, boat and oar repair, coaching your coxswain and many, many more. There will be more than one speaker presenting at a time and you will be able to choose what interests you the most.

2009 Speakers Included:

Dr. Richard Lapchick, Endowed Chair and Director of the Devos Sport Business Management program at UCF.  Dr. Lapchick is an internationally recognized voice and scholar on issues of racial diversity in sport.  As pleased as we are to have Dr. Lapchick speak to us about the changing nature of sport, he was equally pleased to learn about USRowing's new diversity manager position and effort to push for diversity in rowing.

U.S. national team coaches - Kris Korzeniowski, Tom Terhaar and Tim McLaren.

Michael Shannon, Head Physiologist at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calf. – Practical training information for coaches who only have 90 minutes a day to coach.

Justin Moore, Head Women’s Coach, Williams College -- Cross-training, running, cycling and cross-country skiing.

John Fuchs, Head Women’s Coach, Western Washington University -- Team chemistry and the role it plays in winning NCAA Championships.

Izzie Brown, Nutrition Lecturer at San Jose State University and former elite-level rower -- The ins and outs of fuelling for performance and supplements: what you should know.

Michiel Bartman, Head Coach Vesper Boat Club -- Small boat rowing/sculling.

Tony Brooks, Former Head Coach New Trier HS -- Moving from the petites to the finals, incremental steps.

James Antony, Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Washington, Founder and former Executive Director of the Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership program and assistant coach of the Washington Women’s Rowing Team in 2000-2001 --Leadership in intercollegiate sports.

Matthew Goetz, Head Coach Granby High School Rowing -- Development and Growth: Re-establishment of  the Competitive Urban Crew.

Tim Searles, The Rowing Repair Center -- Tim will be offering hands-on repair classes in the morning.

Laura Simon, Teaching the Coxswain -  Her 18 years as a coxswain and teaching clinics to coxswains and coaches insure a very informative program to help you make your coxswains better.
