Princeton, Western Washington and Ithaca Remain On Top of Women’s Rowing Collegiate Coaches’ Polls

INDIANAPOLIS – For the fifth week in a row, Princeton University claimed the top spot in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Western Washington University and Ithaca College topped the Division II and Division III polls, respectively.

In Division I, Princeton earned 12 of 22 first-place votes to remain atop the poll. The University of California at Berkeley received nine first-place votes to keep the second position, while the University of Michigan earned the remaining first-place vote to stay in third place. The Ohio State University and Harvard University rounded out the top five.

Western Washington University was a unanimous choice for the top spot in the Division II poll, earning all five first-place votes. Nova Southeastern and Mercyhurst College tied for the No. 2 ranking.

In the Division III poll, Ithaca College remained No. 1, earning eight of nine first-place votes. Trinity College earned one first-place vote to stay in the second position, while Smith College ranked third. The University of Puget Sound and the United States Coast Guard Academy rounded out the top five.

Harvard Tops Men’s Collegiate Poll; Princeton Tops Women’s Lightweight Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – Harvard University kept the No. 1 ranking in this week’s USRowing Men’s Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll, while Princeton University topped the first USRowing Women’s Lightweight Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll of the year.

Harvard garnered 14 of 16 first-place votes to solidify its No. 1 ranking. The University of California at Berkeley ranked second, earning the remaining two first-place votes. The University of Washington, Princeton University and Stanford University rounded out the top five.

In the first women’s lightweight eight poll of the year, Princeton University earned six of eight first-place votes to take the top spot. The University of Wisconsin earned two first-place votes to rank second. Radcliffe, Stanford University, and Georgetown University rounded out the top five.
