Hosting a Clinic

USRowing will provide an instructor, materials, and handle all registration. You provide a suitable space, a TV, and the participants (we can help with this).

Coaching education is part of the core mission of USRowing. Approximately 500 coaches go through our certification program every year. The Level I and II programs are an excellent way to introduce your new coaches, and those who have coached a season or two, to more information that will help them be safer and more effective coaches.

LEVEL I

Level I is a one-day program designed for someone who has never coached rowing before, such as a parent, teacher, or recent college grad. We recommend this program for all new coaches with less than one year of experience. We service local areas and conduct these clinics in smaller groups to allow more "one-on-one" time with the participants. Typically, USRowing holds 20 Level I clinics per year, including one at the USRowing Annual Convention. We require a minimum of 10 participants. Cost per participant is $125.

LEVEL II

Level II is a one-day program for a coach who has completed Level I and/or has been coaching for about a year. The Level II clinics are more regional and are designed to draw from a larger area. USRowing provides speakers to address the topics outlined in our manual. USRowing holds 8 to 10 Level II clinics per year and requires a minimum of 10 participants. The Level II clinic also is provided at the USRowing Annual Convention. Cost for regional Level II clinics is $150 per participant.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CLINICS

USRowing would like to work with your organization to host a program that is designed to help you. Subjects can range from boat repair to rigging to the best use of your rowing tanks. The clinics are designed by you and the USRowing staff to fit your needs. Cost for participants depends on length, number of speakers, and topics.

BENEFIT TO HOST

The host organization will get one free participant for 12 paid participants in the Level I and II clinics.

We try very hard to honor all reasonable requests for clinics but due to location and/or scheduling conflicts with our instructors we are occasionally unable to schedule a clinic in a specific location.

(LEVEL III is offered only at the USRowing Annual Convention. See our convention page for more information.)
