Madsen Competes in Atlantic Rowing Race

Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 -- U.S. adaptive rower Angela Madsen and her partner Franck Feastor, an amputee from France, completed the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007 on Thursday, February 7, 2008. The duo crossed the finish line with a time of 67 days, 23 hours and 24 minutes, finishing in eighth place out of 15 pairs.

The race began on Sunday, December 2, 2007, and covered 4,727 kilometers from La Gomera, Canary Islands, to English Harbour, Antigua.

After spending a few days in Antigua, Madsen, a four-time world champion in the trunk-arms double sculls, will come back to the United States to begin preparations for the selection process for the 2008 Paralympic Games. This year will mark the first time that rowing has been contested at the Paraplympics.
