2018-19 Election Information

It is an exciting time for rowing in the United States. As we look ahead into the future of our sport and as an organization, USRowing will need to leverage the passion, diversity and strength of our community to continue to grow and improve our sport.

For voting purposes, members must have been in good standing by December 1, 2018, and NO changes to contact information could be made after the Date of Record (December 18, 2018). See below for eligibility requirements for each of the ballot categories.

Update: USRowing has temporarily suspended voting for the Southwest Regional Referee Coordinator position. We have received a complaint relating to the Southwest Regional Referee Coordinator election that asserts that false and misleading statements have been distributed about a candidate for that position in a manner that may affect the results of the election. 2018-19 Election Information

The following positions are up for election beginning January 1, 2019.

Board Positions:

  • Elected by the Organizational Members in their respective regions: the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest Regional Positions on the Board of Directors. These positions are for a three-year term of office.
  • The Male and Female Vice Chairs on the Board of Directors are up for election by the Individual Members of the association. These positions are for a three-year term of office. Individual Members shall consist of individual persons who are full-privilege, individual members (Championship Members) of the Association.

Referee Regional Coordinator Positions:

  • Elected by referees in their given region, the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest Referee Regional Coordinator Positions. These positions are for a three-year term of office.
  • Elected by referees in their given region, the Southwest Referee Regional Coordinator Position is up for a special election for the remaining two years of the current term of office.

Voting Process

Ballots for member-elected positions, including the Mid-Atlantic Regional Position and Midwest Regional Position, and the Male and Female Vice Chairs on the Board of Directors, will be distributed after the Date of Record (December 18, 2018) and before January 2, 2019. Completed ballots must be submitted for receipt no later than February 1, 2019. The term shall commence on the first Monday of March 2019. In order to vote, members must be in good standing by December 1, 2018.

Ballots for the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Southwest Referee Regional Coordinator Positions will be distributed to referees in those respective regions after the Date of Record (December 18, 2018) and before January 2, 2019. Ballots must be received no later than February 1, 2019. The term shall commence on the first Monday of March 2019. In order to vote, members must be in good standing by December 1, 2018.
