Since 1912, the West Side Rowing Club has carried out its mission of introducing the youth of Western New York to the sport of rowing. To date, members of West Side have represented the United States in six Olympic Games, five Pan-American Games, twenty-three World Championships and twelve Junior World Championship events. West Side and U.S. National team alumni and members include Tom Murray, Don Smith, Jim Neil, Kevin Cotter Marty Crotty and current members Tom Terhaar and Steve Coppola. As we continue building on our rich rowing tradition, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the development of our athletes and provide them with the finest rowing experience possible.
Over the past two decades, our Senior Summer programs have achieved a level of prominence among the Nation’s best rowing clubs. This program has helped to inspire and guide our junior athlete base and enhanced the overall rowing experience for all of our competitive athletes. To take our rowing programs to the next level and to help contribute to US Rowing’s continued development of Senior-level talent, we are seeking the USRowing designation for a recognized Senior Development Camp.
